Environmental Health Project: About

Since exposure to toxic agents in the environment can cause developmental, neurological, and mental health problems, the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD) is pleased to announce that it is embarking on a project to advance awareness about the exposure of toxin agents in the environment.  With support from the John Merck Fund, NADD will provide professionals, caregivers, family members, and general public with relevant information concerning toxic agents and their effects on human development.  Relevant information will be made available through this website.

To assist in this endeavor, NADD is establishing an Environmental Health Committee.  The purpose of this committee is to provide assistance to meet our objectives.  Committee meetings will be held telephonically.  If you are interested in participating on this committee or would like to learn more about this project please contact Ed, Project Coordinator at eseliger@thenadd.org.

The NADD Environmental Health Project will involve:

  • Developing a NADD Position Statement on Environmental Health

  • Developing a NADD Environmental Health Committee
  • Adding “Environmental Health” to the list of our major content categories
  • Initiating collaborative relationships with other related organizations

Ways in which NADD intends to disseminate this information include:

  • Articles in the NADD Bulletin

  • Conferences
  • Website
  • Other: to be determined
